Can low cap. mags be converted to hi cap., and if so is it worth it if mags are $10. Thanks. |
Been so long since i've seen a bureaucrat mag but , i believe there are ribs on the inside of the mag body that prevent this. The ATF required manufactures to submit a sample of their mags so that they could not be altered using old parts. For the cost of springs, followers and time it would be a better investment to buy regular mags IMHO. J |
+1 the entirety of the inside of the banned mags has a central rib of plastic running along the sides to prevent hi-cap conversions you could attempt to waste your time trying to dremel out the ribs (which are integral to the plastic body) and hope for a reliable mag, or you could simply opt for new hi-cap glock mags for cheap FWIW: i still keep the banned mags i get for range and competition mags |
Check CDNN as they have them at times..... |
oh, sorry--i havent looked in a while--back when I though i could convert a couple cheapo banned mags into highcaps ![]() i was thinking that the plastic body had the rib and that the metal liner goes on top of the integral plastic rib and locked in w/ plastic on the bottom/top/along the metal--i.e: the plastic body had the ribs/form while the metal lining was just pressed into the plastic for re-inforcement like normal mags oh well, thanks for the re-clarification |

where do you find $10 10 rnd mags at? At the out of the way gun shop a guy runs out of his shop building. He had 6) G22 mags and 1) G17 @ $10 ea. used, real Glock brand. I have a cousin in MD and I thought about buying some for him. I have all I want but was thinking that if all I had to do was swap the follower or something I might look in to getting some for myself too. |
What is the name of the gun dealer? |
