1 Remove mag and any rounds in the chamber
2 MAKE SURE THE GUN IS EMPTY visually check the chamber
3 Again MAKE SURE THE GUN IS EMPTY visually check the chamber
4 And again MAKE SURE THE GUN IS EMPTY visually check the chamber
5 Aim the confirmed to be empty gun in a safe direction and pull the trigger
6 Above the trigger on both sides of are 2 little buttons, locate these, they slide downward towards the trigger
7 Gently pull back a little on the slide and at the same time slide both those tabs above the trigger downward and hold them down. The slide should move forward when you release it and off the gun.

If you can't figure it out bring it back to the dealer and have them show you how. They should have done that before you left the store with it.

When I field stripped my G19, I used a slip-n-slide, two quarts of wesson oil and an 18 year old cheerleader.

Never did get the thing apart, but I didn't really care that much.

It took 2 quarts of Wesson Oil ?  They must grow some "healthy" cheerleaders up there!

don't forget to use the famous 'Glock Grip' to dis-assemble (upside down, thumb on grip and move the slide back with fingers)
