I know there's been talk about a Glock carbine for years now but has anyone ever tried this one?

www.mechtechsys.com/glock.html

I'm still new to this sport so if I missed a post on this I'm sorry but I did search first.

That thing is ugly.

Why would someone need that?

Couldn't you get a complete Kel-Tec sub2000 for less than the price of that upper?  Not to mention the upper doesn't include the Glock frame...

I agree with glenn_r.  For that kind of money you can buy a complete rifle or carbine and you'd have a whole gun as well as your glock.  I haven't bought the AA 22lr conversion kit for the same reason.  For the kind of money the AA kit costs, I can buy an entire 22lr pistol and end up with two guns instead of one with extra parts.  I know some like the AA kits for cheaper training but in my mind the only thing that is the same with the AA kit installed is the grip and the trigger.  Everything else is different.  Weight, sights, magazines, felt recoil, sound (loudness), etc.   For me, that doesn't seem like inexpensive training with your go to weapon, it sounds like inexpensive training with a different weapon that just happens to have some similarities to your go to weapon.

Now having said all that, if the Mech Tech kit was only $150, I'd probably buy one to play with.  For the kind of money they are charging, I'd rather have a lever action in .357mag or maybe a true 9mm carbine.
