OK , I have been good all year, As far as Santa knows i have been alotted the funds to buy a new toy!.... I am thinking of getting a glock 31 357 sig.. I already own the following models...17,19,20,21,22,23,27 SO my question is... what are the PRO'S and CON's of the glock 31?? I know that the ammo is more expensive. no big deal!... any comments, good or bad ......... thanks colt! |
| I carry a 32 and overall always loved it. I like the speed of the .357 sig when compared to a 40. Plus with the right ammo it really makes a loud noise at the range that gets everyone's attention. But it all boils down to personal preference. If you want another caliber to go to the range with, then go for it. However, if it's personal protection your after than the calibers you already have in your stable are more than capable. |

I personally would rather have several different calibers. Buying a bunch of guns in the same caliber doesnt make since to me. I just find one in a certain caliber and if it works for me then that is the one gun in that caliber I will keep. The only times a buy a gun in the same caliber if one is a revolver and one is an auto. I would buy a 31 a .357 is a nice caliber. And I love glocks, it a win-win situation IMO. |

I am seeing a lot of random opinions here. Some with a lot of thought and some with none at all. Religion, politics, and firearms seem to provoke heated debates with a lot of misinformation spewed in all three. For me, the common sense approach to collecting Glocks is to fill the "family" with all the different sizes of the same caliber. It is an expensive venture to stockpile enough ammo to feed any one caliber. I keep onhand, a minimum of 5,000 rounds for each caliber I shoot regularly. That being 4,000 rounds of practice/range ammo and 1,000 rounds of defense ammo. I can carry anything I can qualify with, but I choose the 40. As such, I have a copy of every 40 Glock makes except the 35 and that will soon change. My advice to you, is to think through what you are trying to accomplish, then execute. If you can afford to "feed" a number of different calibers, then by all means, diversify. If you can't, you would be better served to purchase a Glock in a caliber that is already in service with you. |
Leave some for the rest of us..... |

Another approach would be to just get a Glock G31 barrel to swap it out with your G22. If you must, you could also get some G31 mags too but I doubt that they are really necessary. As those two items are the only thing different between the G22 and G31, you'd have both for enough less $$ that you could get something else too. (Like more .357 Sig ammo.) |
I disagree with this. Good choice on the 21. I have two of the 21s and two 19s. I think having two of a gun that you love makes a lot of sense. |
+1 10mm and .357sig are 2 diff cartriges all together, esp w/ the diff loads.... i'd get the G31 in your case OP just b/c it seems you've tried all the others, why not the G31 |
