to fit on Glock 19 & 17.  The wife wants one, and I don't think its that bad an idea.  Looking for arounf $100, as it doesn't need to be "field capable." just for the HD gun.

Don't do it...........

But if you must spend the money on either the Crimson Trace unit or get a Light/Laser unit for the front rail.

I've tried the Crimson Trace and don't like how it feels, I'm thinking something to go on the rail.

I personally have the Crimson Trace Laser Grips on my G23.  It may be a little pricey, but maybe look at the TLR-2 Light/Laser Combo.

+1 for the TLR2 or a M6X Streamlight.

If it is for your HD gun, you are still going to want it to work, no?  Anything you get for $100 will not be something you will want to use after jumping out of the bed at 2 AM and the adrenaline is flowing like coffee!

Rather than depending on a laser, I'd probably just strap a good flashlight to my dog's head, so it'd light up whatever wakes it up and makes it bark.

Just paint a red dot on the end of the recoil assembly.

Check Cabela's, I remember them always having lasers. Or post a WTB on the EE?

A wireless camera and IR light is much better.

I always recommend against using lasers to my students.

While a laser does have a practical training application, it is not good for a defense/carry gun. Using a laser makes you a lazy shooter and does nothing to hone your skills. If all you've ever known is to look for the red dot and the batteries fail, will you have the practiced skills necessary to hit the target?

I'd be interested to know the reasons why she wants one.
