I recently purchased a "police trade-in" model 22 for my girlfriend.  Just a couple of days ago, I noticed the frame had ripped on the front near the magazine well.  I am sure Gaston wouldn't approve of anyone carrying his pistol in that condition.  Has anyone had any problem like that, or know what the factory warranty will and won't cover?  I scoured their webpage last night and can't find anything regarding warranty.

Sorry about the second pic being blurry......but you get the idea anyway.

Call Glock and ask them.

Or you could get a magwell to cover it up.

They'll replace the frame, free, but you'll have mismatched serial numbers.

If I got a 3rd generation frame out of the deal, why would I care?  Assuming they would replace it with a 3rd gen frame, that is.

I wouldn't care either; was just making the observation that they wouldn't go to the trouble of having a new frame made with a matching serial number.

I called Smyrna Ga today.  Their tech told me to send the entire gun back to them and they would either repair or replace the frame.  The most it is supposed to cost is 43.00 if it is not covered under warranty.  If replaced, it will be with a Gen III frame as he stated they no longer make or stock the Gen II frames.

Two things come to mind here:

1.  A steel framed gun wouldn't tear

2.  How could it possibly be anything other than warranty work?

they aren't going to commit to anything over the telephone without having the pistol in hand.  standard business practice (for all businesses).
