I just got my G19 today. After getting home and looking it over the barrel doesn't look like it's polygonal rifling and I'm under the impression that all Glocks have polygonal rifling.  I read on another thread that barrels that start with L are replacement barrels, but my serial number on my G19 starts with L and all the serial numbers match. I tried to call Glock but they are closed. I could be mistaking the polygonal rifling seeing is how I have never seen what it looks like in real life, only drawings online. How can I tell if it is polygonal and how do I tell if it is a replacement barrel? Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

ETA: The Glock is supposed to be NIB.

If the word, "Glock", appears on the frame, then it's a polygonal barrel.

I understand what your saying but I bought this gun from a dealer that I never have purchased from before, that works out of his basement, and I don't really know if he is trust worthy yet.  I just want to make sure I didn't get ripped off because I'm new to owning a Glock.

Polygonal rifling looks similar to broach rifling, you will be able to see a twist and "lands and grooves" but it will look smooth and not as pronounced as a broached barrel.

Again if it says Glock you are fine.

I think the "L" was just that a "L" with no other numbers, but I could be wrong.

If the serial numbers match, the barrel is Glock.............

The rifling should look like raised rounded off pieces w/o any hard edges.

Thanks guys. It is polygonal.  I have been burnt a couple times by some fraudulent people so I'm not very trusting of new dealers. I wanted to make sure I asked the pros before I say something to the dealer.

Thanks again guys

Standard rifling on the left, and polygonal the right.
