I bought a brand new G17. This one has a 10 digit serial number next to the locking block, and the usual serial on the frame by the rail.
What's this 10 numbers for? Does anyone know?

I think that number is similar to a LOT number and that it's used to track the frames that are manufactured here in the US. I haven't seen any of the Austria frames with those numbers yet...only US made frames.

well it does say Made in Austria, Glock Inc, Smyrna GA. I suppose the machine that makes the frame is here, this gun is made here, just haven't got the chance to change the made in austria part.

I'm not sure. I can tell you that my 20th Anniversary G17 was made in the US but has the 10 digit number and says "GLOCK, INC., SMYRNA, GA." on the right hand side of the frame.

None of my made in Austria Glocks have that number beside the locking block.
