I read through all the various CCW and IWB topics  I could find here in the Glock forum but I cant find any mention of ClipDraw or variants.

Are they complete shit or what?

I just ordered this:

I want to put ClipDraws or something similar (hopefully better) on all of my Glocks.   Does anyone have any insight into these devices?

I understand modifying my guns in any way is inherently dangerous and probably stupid, but it doesnt seem to interfere with the mechanical operation in any manner.

Are these sturdy and reliable?    Fragile and crappy?    What's the Hive Mind say about ClipDraw?

Not sure, just check your state laws and see if u can use.  My state says it has to be in a holster.  Even though I see them for sale sometimes a shows.

They do NOT enclose the trigger area.

I would not use one with a round chambered, unless I wanted to neuter myself.

I just took a CCW class and the detective had a couple guns with clipdraws on them.

One of them was a snubnose .38 and another was a Kel Tec P3AT.  He was showing us various places to stash guns on our person and the advantages and disadvantages to each spot.

I normally carry IWB "Mexican Style" on my hip with my hip pushing the gun against the elastic of my underwear and the belt being cinched tight to hold it against my body.   It's very rigid, but I'd like to know that something else (ie ClipDraw, et al) would be there to help keep it from sliding around.

I may just find that when my new IWB holster shows up that I like it enough and wear it all the time.

The above post is solid advice.

There have been many of times when other peoples children have bumped against me in various shopping places, and where my clothing has gotten snagged, my dog jumping on me, fight, struggle, etc. Go with a real holster, you and everybody around you will be safer that way.

I had one and it says on the the side not recomended for carry with one in chamber. I used it a few times got tired of it, it would even leave a little mark on the gun

When carrying a glock, I would prefer a holster. I have no expeirience with the clip draw, but keep in mind that clothing caught in the trigger gaurd of a Glock can make it discharge. I use an IWB made from Kydex. It is very comfortable even in the heat of a Texas summer.

I have a clip draw on my 26.  When I use the clip draw I carry empty chamber, it is easy to chamber a round by catching the rear site on my belt and pushing down.  I have no problem using the clip draw equipt pistol with a kydex IWB holster - Bladetech I think.  My clipdraw is modified - cut down and I added heat shrink tube to prevent contact with the slide.

Clip draws and Barami Hip Grips are great for revolvers.

A Glock needs a proper holster.

Well, we made it halfway through September without a clipdraw thread...

Fair enough!

How about this one,

"What's the best 9mm self defense load"?

 Just kidding dammit!

I ordered a ClipDraw for my Kel-Tec P3AT and my Glock 26.

I guess this is one of those things I have to try for myself, since the split everywhere I ask is about 50/50

YOu may want to test it out UNLOADED a few times to get your draw right first...

After reading the post where the dude shot himself with his Glock 19, your reminder is sobering.

I second that.  Keep the family jewels safe: use a proper holster with a Glock.

I have one on my XD45, my 9mm. Baby Desert Eagle, and on my 1911. No problems with it.

I find that I use it far more than I thought I would.

i had one installed on my G26 once...it gave me the option of mexican carry and at the same time, added security inside my IWB holster

i got rid of it

imo, i'd just as soon have a cond 1 glock inside a proper holster that secures the trigger guard; YMMV

FWIW: the clip draw does work, to an extent; the security is pretty ok, unless you do a lot of moving--then your glock may start to move about, so the clip draw by no means allows for your glock to remain in one, specific spot like a good holster
