| Congrats. I hope to pick up my new 19 sometime later this week when the paperwork comes back from the Gestapo. i picked up an OD one this time complments of GSSF. I only have to pay the dealer transfer and background fees. Shoulf be a nice compliment to my 12 year old G17. Hope you enjoy your Glock as much as I've enjoyed mine. Get a .22 conversion kit and a suppressor and have cheap, quiet, plinking session. |

Congrats on your purchase. You now have a quality smokewagon!!! Don't worry about the guide rod. The one piece rods are good to go. I have a strong dislike of the sub-compact dual guide rods, as I have seen more than a few go T.U. Some folks like them, but I back up my G23 with a second G23 for this reason. |

I won't portend to tell you what to do, but rather what my preferences are. I use aftermarket, preferably the Lonewolf Distributors, 3.5# connectors. I use the standard, rather than the NY trigger spring, because the NY spring gives a revolver-like pull, and I just can't fathom going to a revolver-like pull in my Glocks. Wolff makes a nice steel guide rod that asuage your fears about the plastic guide rods. They're one-piece, of course. Wolff also makes excellent steel two-piece guide rods for the subcompacts, and there's nothing wrong with the two-piece steel guide rods. I use steel guide rods in all my Glocks, both full-sized, compacts, and sub-compacts. Also highly recommend Agrip. I just don't care for the feel of slippery plastic in my hands, when my hands get sweaty. |
