| or is the Glock 36 a handful to shoot 230 ball ? i fired one the other day and it has alot of kick. I carrya Glock 27 and it kick alot less. |

Keep in mind - for CCW - you dont need a target gun. You need something you can point and shoot within a short distance.... into center mass of a bad guy. I felt the same way as you - when I got my Keltec P3AT. I could not believe how bad the sights were... and when at the range, shooting for groups... it was so snappy it hurt my hand. Then - I woke up and realized the specific purpose of this gun: To draw and quickly fire multiple rounds into center mass of a man sized target at a distance of less than 21 feet. Once I started practicing like that... I didnt even notice any amount of recoil... and it does what it needs to do. |

i also was not impressed with the recoil on the 36. ALOT more than the 30....which i wasn't expecting. say what you want about it being a point and shoot gun. that's fine, but i like to be able to still have quick follow up shots. and the 36 didn't work that well for me in that regard. a 23 or a 19 is a great solution. they are a tad bigger than the 36 though. so a little harder to conceal. but no impossible at all. |
I carry a more capable gun in case I find myself in a place like Wedgwood Church or the Tyler courthouse at the wrong time. With modern holsters, carrying a G19 is easy as pie. |
| The general opinion here is usually the G19. I'm going to go against the grain a little and recommend the G26. Yes, the G19 is easy to conceal most of the time, but I think that the G26 is a bit better in this department and offers more versatility -- specifically during colder months when it can be placed in a coat pocket. |
I usually say CTAC, but Comp-Tac has a new one out with leather on the inside similar to the Answer. That one might be pretty good. It also helps to be skinny and have a hip pocket. (I've never seen you...just sayin' )

I didn't think the 36 was all that bad. If you're already shooting and carrying a 27, stick with it. The 26 is a bit easier to shoot, but why spend the money at this point in time? As for holsters, I'm a big fan of Comp-Tac. They have several IWB holster that are kick ass. |

The part touching your body is horse hide and doesn't take on water like leather. I've not noticed the holster to feel damp so far. I would like to try a C-TAC but I've been so pleased with the MS that I can't bring myself to cough up more $ Besides, Glocks don't rust. Ask anybody! |

I carry a G23 in an ISWB Galco Royal Guard, have for years and spent alot of cash to come to this point. Shorts and a t-shirt are no problem at all, as a matter of fact I do everything with that combination, mow the grass, work in the garage whatever. While the holster has changed colors from perspiration the gun has never showed signs of wear other then the normal holster wear of the finish which adds character IMO. But to answer your question, either a G17 or 23. With a spare G17/22 mag. My .02. |
