| I'm thinking of getting a Glock 30, I like the size and caliber of it. Anybody recomend agaist the G30? What is a good price? |

I think I paid $500 for mine new with night sights in 2002. I liked the gun. It concealed well and handled well. It was a bit small for my hand though. I added grip extenders to the magazines which helped but it was never quite right. I was never very accurate with it. Try one out before you buy to make sure it fits your hand. I also upgraded to a 3.5# trigger which made it really nice. I sold it a couple years back for a full frame gun. |

Try it and see if the grip fits you. I thought for sure that was going to be my next Glock. Then all of a sudden I decided it didn't fit "just right". I'm in no way trying to talk you out of it. I may end up getting one after all. GREAT gun. I would expect to pay closer to $600 for one. |

Hold it and fire it first. I used to have one. I bought it as soon as I saw it without holding it or firing it. It is fat and uncomfotable. It is also very fat for concealing and so short the end of the muzzle jabbed the shit out of me every time I wore IWB. I sold it. |
If you are comfortable with the 30 why would you want to get accustomed to the 36 and give up the extra rounds? |
Why do men end up with a second wife? I'm a gun guy - I like an excuse to get another pistol! In all honesty - I truly LOVE my 30. But part of me wanted to see, as the weather warms, if I could get away with something a little slimmer to tuck away. I'm going to give the 36 the old college try this summer and see how it goes. When it's back to coats and sweaters in the Fall, it's all about the 30 for me. |
| Just retrieved my G30 last night. Had given it to youngest son; recently acquired a G26 and traded the G26 to him for the G30. Had forgotten how much heavier and bulkier the G30 is, compared to the G26. Guess I'll just use the G30 as a range/house gun and keep carrying my little G26, which, BTW, I'd far prefer to the G36. |
| I have had a G30 for about 8 years and 5000 rounds later. It has been flawless as long as I do not limp wrist. Everyone who I let try it out love the thing. It is not as pretty as a 1911 but is easier to shoot for many of my non-shooting friends than the 1911. I want a 1911 in a bad way but i will never sell my G30! |
I have 7 Glocks in all calibers and have been carrying a gun everyday for 25 years. In my opinion the Glock 30 is one of the best combat/CCW handguns ever made. Its a fairly small and light gun which makes it easy to carry concealed. It is unusually and inexplicably accurate. Its packs a very big punch 11 rounds of the venerable .45 acp Its a Glock , meaning its real simple to use and maintain and enjoys great reliability. |

I am using the slug plug in the G30, which gives the heel of my hand just the extra support that my hand needs. The G30 is a very "shootable" gun, in size it compares more to the G19/23 than the G26/27, this gives my hand a more comfortable grip which I notice particularly in quick follow-up shots.. |

It's a nice pistol. I used to have one. They're quite accurate for their size. It was reliable too. So why did I get rid of it? 1. It threw brass in my face (I'm a lefty) 2. I just couldn't find a niche for it to fill. I was hoping that it would be a good summer gun for when I'm not toting a 1911 (since it's lighter weight), but it was so fat, that I found it harder to conceal than the 1911 during the summer. And during the winter, I'd rather have the longer barrel and slide of the full-size 1911. 3. I found that with one in the pipe and a full magazine, it would cause too much resistance against the slide and would sometimes cause stovepipes, etc. So I would have to download the mag by 1, which largely negated the capacity advantage. 4. It was too big for coat pocket carry even with the 9-round mag. Since I found it to be too thick for belt carry in the summer, I tried it as a coat pocket gun in the winter, and it was too heavy and too bulky for that. Basically, for me, I found that it didn't do anything really well. It needed to be either smaller or larger to be of any real use for me. It's too large to be a compact gun and too small to be a good primary belt gun. But that's just MY opinion. Others may find it more useful. |
