I have looked on several boards, including this one and cannot find the answer, so I am asking now....

What is the grip ANGLE like on the 21SF?

The reason I ask is that Glocks do not fit my hand well.  They point high for me, whereas a good 1911, HK USP, Springfield XD, etc. all point naturally.  Does the frame reduction of the 21SF change the angle significantly enough to allow a natural point of aim for a 1911 man?

Thanks.

Glocks point high for me because of the stupid hump on the backstrap.  The 21SF has less of this.  It does NOT come close to a 1911 for ergonomics, then again most 1911's won't come close to the G21 for reliability.

I can't comment on the reliability comparison between a 1911 and a G21SF, having never had a failure with either (30 years with 1911, 30 days with G21SF). But the grip angle of the G21SF is pretty much standard Glock, and it definitely isn't a 1911 grip angle. If you hate the standard Glock grip angle, you won't be wild about the G21SF, either. However, unless you're a quick-draw artist or a point-shooter, the sights do wonders for the pointability although you do have to change your wrist angle a bit to compensate for the different grip angle.

I have several 1911's and several glocks.  This glock points more like a 1911 than any other.  I am very impressed with mine.

It's a lot closer to the 1911 angle. It is a big ol' gun, though. I wouldn't want to carry it, but I wouldn't mind having it in a fight one bit.

Don't mean to hijack this thread however, I have an additional question.  Does anyone know how long they will offer the model with the pictanny rails?  I've heard they are only going to make a short run of these if they don't get the military contract.  Anyone really in the know on this?

Thanks for the input guys.  I guess I will need to go to the gunstore and hold one myself to see.  I would love to have a Glock that points right for me.

The sf points real well for me, but then I'm also one of those who finds the sf modifications is all it took to make the too big 21 perfect. YMMV
