so i stopped in my local gun shop looking for a Gen 2 Glock 19.  they want 399 for it.  it  is a used trade in, and they both look like they are in good shape.  is that a good price?

I paid $399 OTD for a like new trade-in second gen 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier.

I would say that is a little high.  A used, current generation, G19 should be about $400 out the door, or maybe plus tax.

I paid $350 out the door for my like new 2nd generation G19, with the original box, papers, mags(pre-ban), loader, and the cleaning rod and brush.  But then again, it may depend on your local market.

mabye thats what it is, the guy told me some where in the neighborhood of 515 for a new gen 3.  he asked me if i was a LEO or Civ, and im a Civ, but why would he ask that?  im going to school in long island, mabye it was stupid of me to look down here cause im from upstate NY.  i thought it was a shade on the high side, but who knows, mabye they will negotiate, it seemed like a small enough place to do that.

Glock offers a discount to military, LEO, Firefighters, Doctors, EMTs, and certain veterans.  That is probably why he asked.

$515 isn't too bad for a G19, they go for $490 around here, but that is at the best priced shop.  There are others that will normally ask close to $600 also.
