I've gone and done it now.

Just got my g19 threaded barrel in from LWD. Pretty nice, and it's completely concentric with my SWR Trident 9 silencer. I could not be more pleased.

But the real story begins. Reading the LWD catalog I find I can change my G23 to 9mm I read a bit more and find I can convert my G30 also

So with my G19, G23 and G30 I can shoot .380acp, 9mm, 357sig, .40S&W, .45acp, 400 corbon and 40 super.

I'm shocked I tell you. I had heard about cal conversions, but never really tried until I had a spare 9mm barrel lying around

Get yourself a G21 and the number of calibers goes up even higher!

I would like to see more feed back from folks who have done this prior to drinking the kool aid for the barrel swap.

Anyone?  Anyone?

Someone at LWD must have had a glaucoma flair up and been smokin' to many meds that day.

You can't do 380 in a Glock unless you want a single shot. The 380 is a semi-blow back and does not have enough poo to push the standard slide back so it will cycle.

DON'T use a standard 9mm barrel in a 40 caliber gun. The barrel OD is smaller and you could damage the gun.

If so which gun/barrel/extractor?  I'm waiting to taste the kool-aid for my G27 after getting a few good detailed reports on this.

Thanks!

So have you used another 9mm barrel in a G23/27?

Yes, I have tried Federal, Storm Lake, KKM, LWD and Jarvis. I think for the "More Bang" for the buck, the LWD barrel works the best.

Thanks.  I just ordered a LWD 9mm barrel plus an extended G26 magazine for range plinking with my G27.

Yeah, I kinda got a little too excited just reading the catalog. I installed the bbl and noticed something was off. Closer inspection found just what you stated. The OD of the OEM barrel is smaller than the ID of the OEM G23 slide, by several 1/100's. I also found the ejector waaaay too short.

Oh well, still pretty cool I can get, essentially, a new gun/caliber for <200
