Talk about Drinkin the Kool Aid, I'm fixin to take a Long Tall Drink.  And am looking forward to it.

Called TopGlock.com today and bought a Glock 19.  Now it's like waiting for Christmas to come.

Question?  I know all about how great this weapon is but how about a barrel break in?  I have done this on all of my previous guns (mostly rifles) but will the Glock 19 requit this?

Chime In.

Nope, just shoot. Start getting some WWB now so you have more then you will want to shoot next trip to the range...

Leave the copper anti-seize stuff on it.

Shoot 100-200 rounds and clean and lube.

Oh, and no shooting non-jacketed rounds through it.

I've always cleaned the anti-sieze off of the new Glocks before shooting for the first time. Seems like I remember a Glock Rep. at a shoot once telling someone to do this. Oh well...

Correct, the manual says to thoroughly clean and then properly lube the gun. Any Glock rep including the employee that wrote the original manual says that you should always follow these steps. Then the newer manuals say to leave the gold grease??? I have never had a problem removing the messy gold grease.

I thought I remember the owner's manual saying something about letting the gold grease wear off by itself.

Anyway, just take it out, lube it a little and blast away.  Enjoy.  It's a great handgun!

Shoot it. You can't mess it up. Get a boresnake. Lube whole gun with one wet fingertip.

What?!?!  You're suppose to break it in????

J/K

My break in was taking it to the range and pumping 200 rounds through it really fast!
