This weekend we were out burning down and old building and some other trash when my Glock 22 got hung up on something and fell out of my Fobus holster and into the flames. It was a several minutes before I realized that the glock had escaped its holster and by the time I dug it out of the flames the bottom of the frame, rear sight, top of the frame where that web of the hand rests, and magazine base platehad melted. It still shoots and ejects a magazine but looks like hell. Do you think that Glock would replace the frame. If not, any ideas on what should be done with it? Thanks. |
| I will get some pictures tommorrow and then ship it off to Glock I guess. How much do you think a new frame will cost? If it is to much I may just keep it and buff out the rough spots and keep on shooting it. It would look like hell but at least it would have character... |
| Check around . I know Glock had an Upgrade that they were doing for free. Something about a rear Slide peice breaking off. You could give them a call and see. I believe it was if you had purchased your glock anytime after Sept 01. .. I'm calling them tommarrow and having them ship out a new frame. You don't even have to send your old one back. The number to glock is. 1-866-225-4098 I'd try and give them a call and see if your gun falls in there critiera for a new frame. |

True-if your Glock had an "E" serial number you might be entitled to a new frame anyway. You have to call them to see if your pistol is one of the ones effected. Call them and tell them it was burned up but still fires safely and ejects the magazine. They might want it for PR purposes or they might just give you a free frame for laughs. It can't hurt to ask. |
