I just got back from the gun show with my 5th Glock now. Its a G26... the problem is after I field strip it... when I try to put the slide back onto the frame... its seems to get stuck about one millimeter from the back from the frame. I have to kind of move the slide around on the rails while pushing the slide back until the slide and the frame lock back together.

I never had the problem with any of my other Glocks... they slip back on just fine after field striping. I'm just wondering if this is something I should worry about? Other than that, when the gun (G26) is back together... it seems to be working fine. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet.

Oh... I forgot to mention... I field stripped it multiple times and the problem occurs every single time I try to put it back together.

Anyone have any ideas at all??? Its brand new and I would hate to send it back to Glock without even shooting it yet.

Probably the recoil spring assembly not lining back up just right with the locking block in the slide (springfield XD service models are bad to do this on re-assembly too).  Make sure you have it (recoil spring assy.) seated right and centered and wiggle the slide back on the frame.  As long as you don't have to use a lot of force and the slide will retract all the way properly, etc., I would take it out and shoot it.

I don't think you have a problem, based on your description.

Thanks buddy! Thats what I was thinking too... as long as it gets on without me using too much force I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much then.

I have several that if I don't align carefully, and don't hold my mouth and wiggle right, they will bind up like that.  It is more common with the dual captive recoil spring designs IME (like your G26).

Happy shooting !
