Bought a Glock 19 today...third Glock I have purchased. My Glock serial number does not have "US" in it. Does anyone know when and why they stopped this? Just Curious...had been told all Glocks imported to United States had to have "US" in serial number.

Also, mine did not have a key lock safety. Didn't really want it and dealer said it was optional. Thought they all had it. My gun is new. Came with a fired shell casing dated 10-15-2006.

Wondering if anyone has any info.

Thanks for your time.

IIRC it was in 2000

Dealer is correct. Just a little FYI the date on the package was when it was test fired and not as some internet information would lead you to believe that it is the date of manufactory.
