Ok so most of you know already what I am gonna say. Brand new G23...put about 300 rnds of 180GDs to break it in. No malfs. Put on TLR-1 and rounds get hung up on the feedramp. Call Glock:"The metal mount doesn't flex enough and inhibits the polymer from flexing when fired...speeds up the slide causing nose dives. Use the latest springs or mags with the #6 follower as they have the new springs already." Well all the mags I used were number six so I am screwed. This light ain't gonna work on my Glock. My question is...anyone else with this problem ever switch from the TLR-1 to another brand of light and have the problems go away? According to the Glock guy it only happens with some lights and/or some gun combos. Guess I got unlucky. I need to know of a brand of light that doesn't have this prob. Suggestions? People that have had my exact problem that switched to something that worked please chime in. I already have a 100 bucks in this light that I can't use on my main HD gun (Don't get me wrong, I am about to get a Sig Combat that it'll work nicely on I'm sure). I just want my next purchase of a light to actually work. I'm not what you'd call "rich". LOL Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the input. I have decided to retire it as my HD gun and just use it as a backup CCW gun to my Soon to be YOBO custom .45. Totally reliable without the light so it's not a total loss. I'm still a little pissed but I will get a G21 for Home Defense and hopefully it'll work with the light. Thanks. |

I had the exact same issue with the exact same setup, G23 w/TLR-1. At first I thought it was ammo, but then I realized it happened with almost everything I tried. So far though, I have not had any issues when using a friends M3. Read about it here |

Interesting situation. Can you ask the Glock guy what tac lights are recommended? My suggestion would be to try a tac light with a rail adaptor. I have a Surefire W111D: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v171/Gregdog/SureFire001.jpg |
Not to side track to much...but how much does that thing weigh? It looks huge. |
What's up jolly? Yeah when it first came in the mail and open the box...I was like: "Whoa, that's big!!!" But it goes well with my G35 tactical/practical 1911 size. It alone weighs 7.4 oz with batteries. I'm a strong boy! |
| I just bought a TLR-1 and tested it tonight on my 35 and 22. No problems at all with the 35 and some issues with the 22. Three of the four mags I used ran without poblem and the fourth was just bad, 2 out of 15 fed corract. I had heard about the issues with The TLR-1 and thought it was just limited to the 22, so since I found a sweet deal on the TLR and my house gun was a 35 I bought one. I will order some extra power springs from Wolf and see if the situation improves with the 22. |
