I rented the 10mm Glock at the range yesterday and enjoyed it very much.

It was the Glock 20C.

I was wondering how much more recoil the standerd G-20 is in comparison, and if the flame comming out of the top of the barrel on the G-20C has any negitave effect on the shooter at night.

Thanks,
KZ

None. The ports do nothing for recoil. They do however reduce muzzle flip.

Depends on the ammo.
Cheep generally = big flash
Hi-end carry ammo generally has a flash retardant to reduce low-light flash.

I've shot my G32C in total darkness, after 6-7 rds I started to see spots but could still find my night sights.

Prepare to lose your night vision, my first compensated gun was a G23C. Not an ideal carry gun, great range gun though.

Last time I shot a 32c was a few nights ago to put a dog down at night on a dark road.  Barely saw any flash at all.  As said above, with proper carry ammo, the flash is not an issue.  Also, as was also said above, the ports mainly reduce muzzle flip, not recoil.  In a flippy gun like the 20, it can be significant, though.  Many people do not like them for carry.  I carry a gun for a living, and shoot a lot in training.  I don't have any problems with the C models.  I think they are a waste in 9mm and .45, but in something like the .357 sig or 10mm, they are worth a look.

I've been thru several night operations with a 19C, no ill effect whatsoever.
