okay here is my problem....I have a 1st gen. Glock 17 I bought a loooong time ago, every time i get around somebody who shoots glocks alot they always tell me if i decide to get rid of it to sell it to them....this is a great pistol and i haven't shot it that much but the only thing I can figure out why they would want it is because the serial number only has two letters and three numbers and numbers are 157. is there a place i can put in my serial number and get manufactures date??....or can anybody here help me with why people want the older Glocks all the sudden?

Date it here

I think wanting earlier models of a beloved gun is something all gun owners have in common.  Glock lovers want earlier model Glocks. Colt, S&W, AR's, M1 Garands, lovers of all these weapons want earlier models.  I wouldn't mind having a 1st generation G17 myself.

Because they are COOL!

What is the serial prefix(the 2 letters) as that will determine when the Glock was imported? Mine is an "AZ" or imported 12/86

Hell yeah, they are cool!

A buddy of mine has a first generation that has an "AA" prefix.
