I went to the range today and put 200 more rounds down range with my 30. Great gun. With all my guns I top off the mags when I carry. So I thought I'd try that at the range just to make sure. Good thing I did. Every time I did it I would get a failure to eject on the first round fired. I rack the slide and everything was good after that. Yeah, the G30 mags are pretty stiff, but I've fired 400 rounds through these mags and they've sat loaded for a while. What do I do? Do I just not top off my mags when I carry? |
Yeah, but do you load 1 in the chamber and then 10 in the mag? If I load my mag with 10 and then rack the slide I can shoot all 10 just fine. It's when I have 1 in the chamber and 10 in the mag that I have problems. |
| I've went to 3 armorers courses for Glock and finally had one of the instructors address this issue at the last one. It is a pretty simple fix. It is usually caused by the floorplate not being seated properly in the magazine. He showed us that you load the mag as far as you can (usually 9 on the G30's and 12 on the G21's), put the Glock mag loader on it that comes with the gun, put your last round in, turn the whole mess upside down and push down on it on a hard surface. He showed us this proceedure. There was a loud "click" and wamo, the mag accepted the full number of rounds after that. Probably the only good use of that stupid loader they give you... |
I don't think anybody's understanding.... I can load 10 rounds. My problem is that when I load 10 rounds in the mag and have 1 in the pipe (for 11 rounds total) and try to fire, I get a failure to feed right away. |
