I got issued a very old (1st run) G17 at my department.  They told me they replaced the mags with the new lined ones that didn't swell, but I still have to leave 3 rounds out of each mag just to get it to go into mag well.  Has there been any new mags or fixes for this by Glock or anybody else?  Nobody around here seems to carry new G17 mags, is the swelling the reason for this and nobody knows how to fix it?

I think the old gen. 1 mags have a steel lining because I have old mags that are very rusty. The new ones might be aluminum, but I'm not sure.

I called Glock and I was told that the liner in their mags is steel.
