A while ago GLOCK has added rails to the G30 and G36 frames, did they do the same to the G26 or do they plan to?

If not, is there a reason they haven't?

I don't think that's going to happen.  There's just not enough material on the G26/27/33 to include an accessory rail.

And I think they only did that with the G30/G29.  G36, again, no enough material.

Well, that answers my question.
I somehow thought the G36 had a rail now...

I just got a new (made in DEC 05) glock 30. It did not come with a rail.

I sure hope they don't put it on the 26/27/33, I wanted a 30 and the rail turned me away.

I was told by a Glock dealer that the 30's with the rail wouldn't fit some of the holsters made for them without the rail.  Also, I think they just look weird, I don't see the point of putting a light on a pistol made for easy concealment.

The 29/30 aren't exactly "easy" concealment. They are thick guns. I think the rail is good there...

And I'd actually like to see it on a 26/27/33/36 if they could fit it on there - you don't have t carry with the light mounted...  and there are plenty of good light holsters.  If you have to deploy the gun you can mount a light in a second or two. Never hurts to have the option.

Mine is.  My brother carried a 30 as a sock/backup gun for a couple years.  He is fairly skinny, so in many cases they are easy to conceal.

Get a Surefire Executive light.  That way you can light up things without pointing your gun at them, which can be quite handy.
