Picked up a NIB G30 for $537 with taxes at the local fun show. This will become my primary carry piece. What holster do you guys recommend for IWB carrying?

I've been carrying my G30 for years in a Blade-Tech IWB. I like it a lot and, for me at least, it hides well.

Do you like the Kydex? I've always kind of strayed away from Kydex and gotten leather

I do like the Kydex for the Glock holster. Most of my other holsters are leather, and I do plan to try out one from Sparks (Versa-max) for the Glock one of these days soon. The Kydex holster does make it easier to re-holster the gun than most leather IWB's I've tried.

Thanks for the links, checking them out now

Another quick question. Is it normal for the slide releases on Glocks to be extra hard to release when you first buy them? I have shot a couple(19 and another 30 at my local range) and I never had this much problem with releasing the slide.

my slide release is still hard to use, but I've read it's only supposed to be used as a slide stop and not used to drop the slide, for that you're supposed to pull the slide back to get it to disengage
at least that's what the "experts" at glocktalk claim

I would recommend a Comp-Tac...either the Gurkha or C-Tac

I have a Gibbs IWB holster. Made from horse hide. $60.00 years ago. About 6-8 yrs old. love it. Still holds it shape for easy reholster.
Milt sparks summer special is similar.
I personally like the feel of the leather for the IWB. I use comptac's for all my kydex.

Enjoy your new 30. It's a great gun.

I carry mine in a Comp Tac CTAC.

It IS a SLIDE STOP not a RELEASE. You are supposed to pull the slide to chamber the round. It gives the slide alittle more power and tension to engage the first round out of the magazine. With alittle practice it works like a charm. Also learn how to do a tactical reload if speed is importance.

Any fellow Glockers use Threatsolutions UCR? And have any of you used a tuckable? Just wondering if the G32 can truly "hide" in that mode of carry. Thanks guys.

Anybody have a G30 with rails. I purchased a Don Hume because I had good luck with them, but upon receiving the holster it is way too tight. I called the company up that I got it from and he said it was because of the rails. Do ya'lls holster work with the rails?

i use galco's with good results. it hides well.

I currently use a Tucker "Answer", and also have used a CTAC and a Threat Solutions UCR for my G30. For me, the Answer and UCR were more comfortable than the CTAC as the portion against the body was more smooth with less formed ridges against my hip. Though I usually don't tuck, the Answer is my primary Holster. If you have a 30 with rails, you need to specify that for Tucker or Comp-tac, as they have versions for both with and without rails, my new 30 with rails will not fit my Answer or CTAC that were made for my old 30 w/out rails. However, both my 30s will fit in my UCR w/out a problem. Hope this helps.

Who makes the Tucker "answer"?

The Answer is a hybrid leather /Kydex holster made by Tucker Gun Leather. I'm not sure how top make a link, but the website is http://www.tuckergunleather.com/
