don't have a pic but maybe i can get one.
i have the Thunder Ranch video Defensive Handgun.
in it Clint is shooting a Glock 17 that is not "normal".
the sides of the grip at the mag well have been rounded or notched out.
it's like someone took a 1.5" drum sander and ground out part of the grip so you could grab the mags (from the side) if they got stuck in the well and refused to drop free...
is this a factory mod?  who came up with it?

any help would be appreciated.

I am looking to get a Glock 17 and this looked like an interesting mod.

I imagine it is a homegrown mod.  As I sit here looking at my 17, it looks as though I could do it in about 10 minutes with a Dremel.

Why would anyone do this? Glock originally put cuts front and rear so that you could strip out the original non-drop-free mags. I never got this mode of thinking. I never get mags stuck in my 1911. It doesn't have cut outs to yank a mag loose.

And I have never had a mag get stuck in my Glocks, either, for that matter.  If I were worried about a mag getting stuck inside the gun, I might reevaluate the usefulness of the platform.
