What sights do you use on your Glock? I like the looks of the tritium ghost sites and was wondering if anyone uses them and what they think. I have used ghost sites on our shotguns at work (Wilson Combat) and liked them but wonder how they would work on handguns. There is also the v rear which looks like a good idea. What do you all think?

I like the dayglo type sights, I just installed a set of Tru-Glo day rods that are also tritium inserted for night operation. I like them.

If I ever get combat tupperware, I will look no further than Yost-Bonitz for their excellent Glock sights.

Have been using Mepros for years, but am currently trying the TRU-GLO TFOs. They seem great, but I have not used them long enough to know if they are durable over time.

The ones that came on the gun.  I tried the trijicon night sites, but they fucked up my POI completely, and I couldn't his shit with the weapon.

I put the OEMs back on and am much happier.  After taking a good low light class I found that night sights are by no means necessary.

I use the stock sights too.  Keeps me in an easier class in IDPA and USPSA

I've shot a low light course where the Trijicons helped, though I certainly would not put them ahead of getting a good light.

The Glock sights suck. I still have a front sight on one of my glocks that is kind of squashed from when I dropped it.

I never knew sights made a differencein classification. They sure don't in our local "Not IDPA" league.

I've only shot IDPA once. The guy there told me if I stepped up to after market sights I had to change classifications.  I took his word for it.

The Ashley Outdoors sight is the only one I have seen, if I understand you correctly.

www.pt-partners.com/sights/xs.htm

I have only seen them, not fired a pistol with them on. I have heard that they are good for fast, close range shooting, but not as good as standard sights for longer sights.

Ghost rings are way overrated for handguns.  My biggest concern would be the effect on ceoncealment, but Louis Awerbuck wrote in one of his books that they were originally designed for people with less than perfect eyesight.  I'll take regular
sights please.

That's true.  I have had to replace the front sight once.  I wish they were metal.  I turn my glock sights backwards to get rid of the dot and notch white thingies!

I have a set of Trijicon night sights on my G17, I got a good deal on them when I bought the gun.  Otherwise, I'd probably still have the stock fixed sights on it.  My AA conversion kit still has the Glock factory adjustable sights that came with it.  I'll probably put a set of three dot sights on it, so that it is more like my G17.

I'm partial to Trijicon's on all of my auto's.

As far as IDPA is concerned, changing from one 'post and notch' type of sights to another post and notch does not change anything whether they are tritium or fiber optic or white dot or plain.
Ghost rings or optics are prohibited.
You got some BS info, check the IDPA website to verify, it's right online. I just completed the IDPA RO class, so I'd consider myself up to speed on things.

I just picked up a Glock 26 for my wife tonight and it has the factory night sights...  I am not sure I really like having the three green dots as if it is real dark it is pretty easy to get the sights screwed up especially with both eyes open.  I was wondering if it might be better with the systems with different color rear sights or if I only had tritium on a front sight...

Either way, it is new to me...  I like the lasermax better for taging a target in the dark now that I get to handle the night sights a little but perhaps if I play with it more I will feal differently about them.

I do like the little G-26 however as a replacement for my wife's 38 5-shot revolver...  same basic size but way more firepower.

I have tried this out to see just how easy it would be to get the sights mixed up, and it's not very easy. If you're holding the gun so far to one side that the front sight is off to the side of the rears, then you will know it by either the awkward bend of the wrist, or because the dots will be too far apart.

All my Glocks wear Heinie Straight 8 Slant Pro night sights with the Custom Glock Racing race cut (widened & deepened rear sight opening).

Glock 19 x 2
Glock 17
Glock 26
Glock 21

So obviously I don't hate them... ;) I use them for carry and competition.

The front post is thinner than most, and I would have a hard time going back to a thicker front sight. Although I do miss the bigger white outline on the front sight.
