| I am thnking about a Glock, but I am trying to do a little research first. I keep hearing things about 2nd generation, 3rd generation, recall, New York trigger, etc... Is there a link with general info on the Glock pistols that explains all of this? TIA |

It really was not a "recall", it was more of a receiver upgrade for some "E" serial prefix guns.(no specific model or caliber) . Below is a pic of the 3 basic receivers that have been producer since '86, 1st gen '85-'89, 2nd gen '89-'98 and 3rd gen '98 to present. The NY trigger is just a spring that increases the trigger pull and can be easily changed.

At my dept. they switched all of our Glocks to the NYtrigger. We were told it decreased the probability of accidentally firing your weapon in a high-stress situation if you had your finger on the trigger(?). Also, it was supposed to keep us from throwing more lead than absolutely neccessary at a bad guy. Hey, that what i was told, but a few of us were like..WTF? |
