A local store has a Glock 24 (the very-long slide .40) on sale for $550.  I'm very interested, but I'm wondering if the gun is factory-original or a piece gun.

The frame's serial number is BMCxxxUS and has a 5# connector.  The serial numbers on slide and barrel don't match, though.  The slide is CNKxxx and the barrel is L6962.  All appear to be original Glock parts.

Is this factory original or a piece gun?

Never mind, I called Glock.  It's a piece gun with a replacement barrel.  My guess is somebody hot-loaded the thing and blew up the barrel...

I think I'll go buy this

FYI
Back in '94 Glock sold G24 slides for those that wanted to turn their G22 into a G24 or G24C. "BMC" serial prefix shows up as imported in '95 so my guess is that is what someone did. I purchased one(same serial prefix "CNK") and still have it(pic below). That way I could have an IPSC Open gun and still have my original G24.

I just picked up a 24 slide to place on my 22 and it has the "CNK" prefix too. Just out of curiousity, what were they selling for in '94?

IIRC I paid $200 from Glock for the complete slide.
