After owning 5 Glock pistols (still have 4) over a period of 12 years I find myself straying to the dark side. Im going to buy a sub compact for ccw tomarow and I am thinking of Getting a Springfield XD 9 sub comp instead of a Glock 26. The XD can be had for cheaper and they seem to be at every store around here. I like the 26 but it has the finger groove that pisses my stumpy fingers off terribly, and its 50-60$ more and its less availible What to do

Unwavering brand loyalty is for weak minds that fear change and people who feel a need to 'belong' to something, no matter how insignificant.

If you want the XD, there is no reason you shouldn't buy it.

Buy what ever fills your hand better. I like Glocks better my self but I have an XD. You can have your micro though they are not for me. My G19 works great for me.

My only objection to the XD is that I think it is butt ugly.

I've owned several XD's and many, many Glocks. The XD9 sub compact is far from compact, especially in comparison to the G26. I am also not convinced that the XD is on par with the Glock as far as quality and reliability.

I'm not making a recommendation here, just stating what I would be thinking about:

If I'm used to the Glocks and currently carry a Glock I would stick with the Glocks because I'm familiar with them.  When it comes to CCW I'm very picky about what I carry is what I shoot on a regular basis.  I wouldn't want to grab my CCW and find out that I haven't had the time behind it prior to the poop hitting the fan.

I would like to buy an XD myself but I wouldn't automatically make it my CCW until after I'd had several thousand rounds through it and I was comfortable enough to trust my life on it.

The one thing I probably would do if I started carrying it is bounce back and forth between the XD and Glock...but I'm funny about that kind of stuff

Buy what you want, if its not a Glock you will trade it later!

I own both and I have no doubt the XD is every bit the quality of the Glock. The XD is a superb gun and will serve you well.

FWIW Both my Glock 22 and 23 have jamed several time and my XD has never jamed in thousands of rounds. I know that probibly does not carry much weight though.
