Is it me or is Glock pretty slow with the release of new products?  Other than the GAP, they haven't release any new guns recently.  I was hoping they would put out a competitor to the Beretta Storm but haven't seen or heard any rumors.

Does anyone know of any new Glock products on the horizon?  Or have we seen it all?

I'm sure the guys swimming on money over the sales of the current line of firearms aren't complaining.

But I agree... it's time for something new. Besides changing up a few cosmetic things about the frames of their pistols they haven't been doing a whole lot.

A carbine seems to be on everyone's wishlist. If they make something like the storm I hope it's damned cool looking.

To quote Gaston, there will be a Glock Carbine at the next SHOT Show (February 2006) . . . if he's good to his word

A new Glock carbine has been in the rumor mill for years and I'll believe it when I see it.  I don't have my fingers crossed, but if it does happen, I'll most likely be one of the first buyers.

When you compare Glock to Beretta or any of the other large firms that put out handguns, Glock is really slow on the new product development.  Beretta is constantly putting out new models (Px4 comes to mind) and tweaking existing models (factory installed lasers, etc.) while Glock sits still.  They must be making enough money on the existing models and don't believe they have to evolve and improve.

Glock representatives have already unoficially announced there is a carbine in the works. It is said to be in 5.56 and take mil-spec mags. I recently heard that there were problems with the prototypes and the Carbine will be delayed till 2006 sometime.

Any chance you've also seen some unofficial pictures?

ETA: Nevermind... I found it.

That's the problem when a company has perfected its product. It's hard to top whats already so widely known as the toughest, most reliable handgun in the world. Glock=Perfection.

O.K. Glock bashers, I'm ready.

I was hoping you had something more "informative" to offer to the discussion.

Nothing more than what's already been discussed in about three other threads. If there was some groundbreaking news you'd certainly have heard it by now.

The other option for a Glock carbine is the Olympic Arms 9mm AR that accept Glock mags...

Actually, there is a glock carbine out there. Surf around gunbroker and you might find one. Its made by a company called Mec Tec, its basically a 16 inch barrel upper for a glock 17, 19, 21, just slide off the top of your pistol and slide this baby on. My buddy has one and its pretty reliable and accurate, and its got a rail for reddot. Pretty badass.

Thanks for the info, we've never heard of that one before.

For what it's worth (probably nothing) I've also heard of a Glock carbine in 5.56 that takes USGI mags.

I'm not holding my breath but if the rumors are true my cash will be standing by to purchase one (or two).

If Glock was really going to put out a 5.56 carbine, why wouldn't they have submitted it for testing with the new M4 replacement?  And if it had been tested, I would have assumed we would have heard about it by now.  I can't imagine them sitting around raking in the money.  If so we should send them some beers to get the creative juices flowing.....

Maybe the plug will come standard on new models?
