Anyone gotten their v2 full size frame yet? I preordered from brownells and haven't heard anything yet.

I figure that they have not shipped yet since they are not even listed on the polymer 80 website.

I pre-ordered as well, no word from Brownells or Polymer 80. On Instagram, they are not stating a release date, except for saying "sometime this fall."

I got mine 2 days ago. Ordered from Lone Wolf.

Went to the big gun show in Philly today and they had them there for $120 OTD... an hour after I got home, finished and functioning perfect. They really fixed a lot of the issues with the first gen stuff, the rear frame rails lock in perfect and the mounting system for the front rails and block are no longer the funky screws but rather a press fit pin. overall, pretty impressed.

well what the heck Brownells? they're walking out the door at a gunshow, but we can't get a PREORDER?

I have no idea why they are doing that, very disappointed in brownells, and also the price out the door beat them by $30. apparently the private company that I purchased it from was deep into inventory on them. They had one heck of a crowd around their tables at the show. And seemed to be loving the crap out of them by all of the sales that I saw folks walking out with them...and this was in the last hour of the show after 3 days of sales...

Rainer Arms has them for sale now online. just had a live chat with Brownells a few minutes ago. He said they (all colored frames) will start shipping this month. Of course he didn’t  have an exact date.  Cancelled my Brownells preorder and just ordered from Rainer. Be here by the end of the week.

The GlockStore has them listed for $120, with black in stock and the other colors available for preorder:

GlockStore Polymer80 V2

Seems like a good price to me with their free shipping on orders over $100. I'd love to get one - looks like a really fun project - but I think I'd prefer a compact.

Are there any other improvements in this V2 over the compact (V1), aside from the rear frame rails, that would justify them doing a Compact V2?

It is the compact v2 fur the g17 for the most part. Polymer80's Instagram has my compact and full size in pictures side by side

Canceled my Brownells order and ordered from the glock Store this morning. Had to pay Ca taxes but still a savings over Brownells pre-order price and it will be here tomorrow or Thursday.

Hah - I just clicked on the Glock Store link and the price has gone from $120 to $150

My Preorder from Brownells is still only $109, versus $150 from Rainier, so I guess I'll just wait. Not worth $40 to me at this point.

how easy are these to do with basic tools like a dremel and hand drill?

am I going to butcher it if I don't have access to a drill press?

the tutorials from the V1 made it look pretty shoddy

did they end up being a good product? would you trust yours enough to use it for self defense? (setting aside any potential liability issues)

I did mine without a drill press and it turned out perfect, just take your time.  The only issue I have is that they don't fit normal block holsters.  Mine has around 1500 rounds through it and has been 100%.

The drill bits provided are within .001 inch of spec. The 3mm drill measures .116" diameter and the 4 mm drill measures .156".

Still haven't shipped from brownells. Keep getting a different answer every time l call. I should have cancelled and ordered elsewhere when it was on sale.

I emailed, and the response was that my frame has been allocated to my backorder, should ship soon. When I check my order online, it shows pending now, instead of backordered.

I’ve done them with a Dremel, hand drill, and files and they work just fine.

Kinda disappointed with the V2.  I haven’t finished the build yet, but had one heck of a time fitting the front rail.  The rail is substantially wider than the hole that it fits in.  Ended up having to bevel the bottom with my dremel the beat it into place with a mallet.

^^ nice looking pistol.

Here is my sons - basic, but he did it himself. We had the same issue with the front looking block being too wide and all we did was taper it a bit and press it into place with my small press.

So the polymer 80s use gen 3 parts. Are the grips gen 3 sized or the smaller no backstrap gen 4 style?
Link Posted: 10/27/2017 6:45:14 AM EDT

The grips are a little smaller and the angle is a little different.

There's no steel in the rear rails, correct? That's the one thing holding me up. NOT a fan of polymer slide rails, and was/am happy Glock chose to use steel for BOTH front/rear.

The compact v1 and the full-size v2 have steel rear rails.

You didn’t need to bevel the frame.  You expand the frame wiht the handle of an X-acto knife or anything 7/16” diameter.  It’s in the instructions.  I didn’t read them either but was referred to them when I messaged P80 on facebook about the fit.
