on another note...
the Glock 19 gen 3 I picked up today CHEAP is missing the plunger safety spring... good thing I took it all apart when I got home for a good cleaning and inspection... I noticed the safety plunger dropped down flush when I removed the extractor rather than have it spring up a bit like normal...pulled it out and there was no spring????  I am assuming this is from someone letting it "fly" and not finding it...right?  anyway, I ordered one...
I'm glad I'm not one of the guys that buys a cheap gun and just goes out to shoot it...

Always inspect any firearm before using.  I purchased a used 17 with the extractor depressor plunger- spring and spring loaded bearing installed in reverse.

Or some ding-dong removed it so there was no resistance from the plunger on the trigger bar, for some WECSOG "trigger job"...

Sounds like that's one of the reasons you got it cheap - good you know how to diagnose and fix it.

Have you done a full function check runthrough (ala the armorer's manual) to check for anything else out of spec? Even if you find something hopefully the price was still cheap enough to be a steal after you remediate any issues.

I stripped it right down... it's had a few thousand rounds through it, looks like it was never ever cleaned... everything else is there and in working order... I got it in the sub $300 range... from a co worker needing money.
so basically It cleaned up well looks decent and should be a good shooter.

Doesnt look like it has a couple thousand thru it.  Is that rust or copper anti sieze?

You got a good deal

the carbon was pretty thick and a pita to get off some areas even with gun scrubber and a brass brush...  this is after I cleaned it... I'm just assuming a few thousand , he told me he has had it for a few years and shot it quite a bit...

so instead of just getting the safety plunger spring I got the ZEV spring kit and V4 race connector... I installed everything and trigger seems a bit light but very smooth!  any have any issues with certain ammo running this combo? guy at the LGS (Glock dealer) said I may want to leave the stock firing pin spring... thoughts?
