I carry my G19 almost daily. My carry mag is flush fit and my spare mag is a G17 mag. Anyone else carry, or own, fullsize mags for a smaller pistol? Or G19 mags for a G26 or the likes?
Anyone prefer this to a "correct" mag with extension? Also, I've read that one should not put most longer extensions, like +4 or greater, on compact/semi compact mags. Is this because of different baseplate angles or something else? |

I think the main problem with long extensions is the spring is too weak for the added length. |

Some days I carry a 17L with a flush mag an extra 17 rd mag in a pocket and 4 33rd mags in my briefcase and 2 more mags in the truck and 400 lose rds.
Some days I carry a 26 with 12 rds and the same loadout but the 17L is in the briefcase. Occasionally just an lcp and an extra mag. LCP is always on me if clothed. 17L when naked is in hand. I shower unarmed. Anything not on me is in the briefcase and that heavy bastard is with me 87% of the time. |

It depends. The +6 extensions I get from TTI come with their own spring to replace the standard magazine one. The TTI +4 ones do not but I have not had a problem yet with them (Weekly practice and USPSA shoots). |

I have no personal experience-maybe I'll finally put that +2 extension on my 15rd 19 mag. I was worried about reliability. Quoted:
