What does everyone recommend?  When I first cleaned mine, I mistakenly removed that copper colored stuff the factory puts on there.  Is that just anti-seize?

Rem-Oil works fine in my guns.

AFAIK, yes it's just anti-seize.  I wouldn't be concerned with it's presence or abscence.

In my experience, GLOCKS aren't picky about lube and they don't need much of whatever you choose.  Most any gun lube should work just fine.  I usually use CLP cause it works and it you don't need to mess with a seperate cleaner.  Occasionally I'll put a tiny amount of Tetra grease or Miltec grease around the trigger bar and connector area.

Militec-1.

Glock don't need much oil maybe 3-4 drops for the entire gun.  More than that and your asking for it to hold dirt/fouling and start jamming.

clp

forget about the anit-seize stuff

i put one drop on each side of the slide's rail and on for the outer part of the bbl and call it a day.

I use Wilson's "Ultima Lube" oil and grease. I put it on the outside of the barrel, inside of slide, and  rail guides. After lubing your glock with this and racking the slide, well.........., its almost like sex.www.wilsoncombat.com/search_results.asp?txtsearchParamTxt=ultima+lube&txtsearchParamCat=ALL&txtsearchParamType=ALL&iLevel=1&txtsearchParamMan=ALL&txtsearchParamVen=ALL&txtFromSearch=fromSearch

And then I use "Rem Oil" for all the tight areas such extractor, trigger assembly etc.
get the one oz. bottle precisionreloading.com/remoil.htm

Tetra Lube for the barrel, locking block, rails. Tetra Grease for the connector, etc.  glocks are not picky about what you use, and you don't need much. Don't belong to the if a little is good, alot is better club.

Don't put RemOil or any other lubricant on a Glock's extractor, trigger assembly, etc.  Follow Glock's lubing instructions and apply four or five small drops of whatever you decide to use exactly where Glock tells you to.  (Oil on the extractor will migrate into the firing pin channel.)

OH -NO oil in the firing pin channel!............Its amazing how Glocks get  submerged in mud, sand, run over by a truck, frozen, but God forbid oil gets in the firing pin channel.....LOL!!!!........... what happens to they Jam???.....LOL!!!
Do as I instructed and you'll be fine. I've been shooting over 30 years and never had a gun fail  due to cleaning and maintenace.

Well, oil MAY migrate to an unlacquered bullet primer
and cause a failure to fire.

Glocks require very little to no oil to run. How much oil and where you use it is far more important than the type of lube you use.

I also oil the snot out of my Glock. My friend who has been shooting Glocks for many years taught mt this. Oil goes everywhere even in the fireing pin channel and on the extractor.
Years of shooting like this and his guns never jam. He cleans them everytime though and then reoils.

You will do just fine doing that.......just don't use that Glock as your oiled up greasy carry piece.

Bet you haven't been shooting Glocks for 30 years.  A quick call to Glock/Smyrna will get the answer from somebody who ACTUALLY knows something about Glocks.

Dropping Glocks in mud, sand, etc., has nothing to do with this thread.  Shooting oil into the firing pin channel isn't analagous to firing Glocks in dirty conditions.  And, no, silly, they won't jam; you'll just get light strikes; probably when you don't want one.

This is pretty simple stuff...so simple that even pretty simple people should be able to comprehend.

Eehhhhhhhhhhh let me tell ya something sparky. I bought a used Gen 2 Glock 17 with so much brass specks in the action that it had turned to green fungus inside. Totaly broke it down to the last part. cleaned it. oiled it as my crazy self usually does. took it to an act 235 course and shot 148 out of a possible 150. Oh and by the way. I out shot a Brinks supervisor / range instructor by a mile and his 5906 kept jamming(it needed a good clean and libe thats all).

wash in sink with toothbrush and palmolive in hot water.  blow dry.  lubricate with a q-tip semi-saturated in militech to put a thin coat in the factory recommended spots.

That's my cleaning procedure for all my glocks.
