I received my slide back from J and L machining today. I am beyond impressed with their work to say the very least. The machining is top notch. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and I'm blown away by it. There are no sharp edges or burrs anywhere, no chatter or tool marks to be found throughout, all work is completely symmetrical.
The RMR cutout is perfect. The RMR literally snaps in place with ZERO slop or play. I'm certain I could probably get through a magazine without the RMR screws in place and it would still be in place. The fit is just that good. I had it cerakoted in Magpul FDE. The cerakote itself is perfect. No bubbles, orange peel, or imperfections of any kind. As you know there's an almost endless amount of variations of FDE and Magpuls version doesn't match Glock FDE frame. It's a perfect match to the Surefire X300U that rides in the gun. I'm quite OCD and I like the contrast between the frame and the slide. I feel it adds to it and doesn't just blend in together causing a blur of FDE. J and L have packages they offer but I wanted something different than what was on their website. Larry was more than accommodating with that. I went with a chevron design on the top of the slide to give it some "bite" if I needed to charge the gun on a hard surface. I wanted windows on the sides to lighten the gun and help offset the weight from the RMR. They also show off the DEM dimpled barrel nicely. The front cocking serrations were of the same thought process. If the need arose I wanted to be able to get a solid purchase on whatever hard surface was handy, I have no doubt they'll bite down hard if called upon. I couldn't be happier with J and L's work and will send them additional slides in the future. Pics

| That looks awesome! I am going with the Accelerator cut in mine. I am waiting on the invoice right now so I can pay and send my slide in. I am going to be running an FDE Stresmlight TLR-1HL. Now I just need to find an FDE RM06! Thanks for the pics. I am very impressed! |
