Sorry if this is a dumb or often repeated question but...
Can I use a new, threaded Glock barrel on a old gun with high round count and swap the old and new barrel back and forth without concern? How about swapping a glock barrel on different guns (same model) of varying age and round count? I would like to use one of my G17 as an occasional suppressor host but I do not want to make it a dedicated host gun. |
| It might not be the best long term (thousands and thousands of rounds) idea as both guns will cause the barrel to wear differently, but it will function fine and shouldn't be a big deal for a few rounds here and there. I've shot a gen 3 17C with the standard barrel out of my gen 4 G17 before with no issues. |

Maybe I'm off base here, but wouldn't a LE or military armorer change out barrels as part of maintenance? Not sure how often it's done, but you hear of people swapping out or replacing barrels all the time. Replacing a barrel once is one thing. Swapping it back and forth repeatedly between 2 different guns is another. |

I just do not see it being a problem if the barrel is made to correct spec. We are not dealing with rifle cartridge pressures so it is not like an AR bolt barrel combo. Before I switched to 9mm I swapped 40 and 357 barrels in my Glock 23, 32, and 27 often. |
