I have owned G17's and G19's in the past all dropped the brass within a few feet as my other pistols... I recently got this gen4 Glock 23 in a trade...it shoots great, but launches the ejected brass off the ceiling and at least 4 lanes over at my indoor range  the pistol appears to be stock, is this normal for the G23?   it really doesnt bother me, but the guys to the right of me getting rained on by my brass is making them a bit edgy

Yup normal, my G4 23 does the same thing, makes it a pain when trying to locate brass... just enjoy that strong ejection...

thanks... I figured it was better than barely ejecting!  looks like if I'm shooting at the range I'll have to be on the far right

Even my Gen 3 G23 ejects rather far...I don't see the down side here.

Might be time for a replacement RSA.  Slide velocity might be the culprit because the spring is weakening.
