So I am in the process of converting my 23 to a 19. I bought a nice 19 upper off of the EE and a Gen3 ejector and housing from Midway. The housing came with the 336 extractor. I did this same conversation on my 22 over the winter and used a 336 ejector with zero issues,  however I've been reading up on here that the late Gen3 can have issues with the 336 ejector on the 19.

Should I replace it with a 30274 just as insurance?

Shoot it first and see what happens.  The 336 ejector is still the correct one for a 19 Gen 3 as far as I know at least.

The 336 ejector was used for many years without issue. The ejector isn't the problem. The 30274 ejector just helps correct whatever the real problem is. You'll just have to shoot it.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a shot. The extractor in the Gen3 is the real issue right?  What is a good replacement for it? Apex ?

Dude, shoot the darn thing first and see if you even have an issue with it before you start worrying about it...

It's difficult to say.  Some people replaced the extractor, and the BTF went away.  Others replaced it with no change or worse results.  Same with the ejector, or a combination of both.  I replaced a an OEM extractor in a Gen 4 19 that really wasn't having any problems with a Lone Wolf extractor, and man, did that make it shit the bed.  Just a lot of variables to account for.

My Vickers 19 who has the same parts runs like a top. I'll report back after I shoot this one.

Generally it's the extractor, and generally the Apex replacement fixes it.  Some lucky Glocks just don't have the problem to begin with.
