So a good friend came out to my place this past weekend to shoot and brought out his Glock 17 that he attempted to stipple himself. Well after shooting my 19 that I just stippled he decided that he liked the look and feel of mine better and has asked me to redo his for him. But this brings some possible problems for me. Has anyone had a frame stippled and wanted to remove and redo it?  Does the process work the same as before, do you just restipple over, etc...

Anyone?

i purchased a G19 a few years back that had a TERRIBLE stippling job done on it.  And a pretty bad green coating on the frame as well (maybe DIY Duracoat?)

i re-stippled it and it did fine.  I didn't sand down the previous texturing, just took very meticulous care in placing the tip as i was doing my dots to make sure i got consistent coverage over the old texture.

Looks fine to me, and grip is way better.

All that said, I'd give the guy a disclaimer that he shouldn't expect this to be like you started from scratch.

Depending on how deep he went on his? You should be able to sand most of the work semi flat, I did mine twice lol didn't care for the first job, and found a very fine tip for the iron, and sanded all my old down smooth and did it all, over again.. Post some before and after pics if you decide to work on it?
