I picked up my first glock last week, a g19 bfg. I like the stock sights, but I want to change them to some night sights because I will carry this some once I get more comfortable with it.
I've looked around some for different sights, mostly trijicon and ameriglo. I like the ameriglo CAP sight but am somewhat confused with the front sight width. It comes in .120 and .140. What are the pros and cons of the different widths? Are there any other companies that I should look at? I looked through the sight pic thread but there are too many choices. Thanks |

The width of the front sight and the width of the rear notch are a personal preference for most.
I like to see on both sides of the front sight, so I don't want a front post that fill up the entire gap. I use one sight exclusively on all my Glocks so I always have the same sight picture. It is very difficult to pick a sight without actually using them, at least for me. I tried several before I got what worked for me, yep I threw away a lil bit of money to find out. Everyone is different, I prefer a flat black serrated rear, no distractions at all, I wanna look for the front site as pistol is being extended. You will have to find what you and your eyes like. Just one guys opinion. Edit: I use these, my eyes like the yellow/green. FYI, I hate the factory sights, the white u notch drives me crazy. https://ameriglo.com/collections/glock/products/glock-protector-sets?variant=7554848641 |

If you like everything about the stock sights except that they're not night sights, you can send your slide to Glock and they will put night sights on it for $57 + tax.
In addition, if you strip it before sending it, it will come back with all new parts installed. |

I just put a set of Trijition SX Big Dot on my G19 they are awesome p/d sights once I figured them out "dozen rounds" I was hitting the A zone at 25-30 yards. I swapped a set on my G17 about 6 months ago and love them. Took me a bit to adjust to them but I use them for P/D, USPSA and IDPA. |
