When you use the piss out of them.

Broke my mag catch spring yesterday during dryfire, which is about the last part you'd think about breaking.

Broke an extractor at a match in April.

Broke the tip off a striker in the same match.

Thank God for backup guns.  If you don't have one, get one.

I got backups to my backups.  I once forgot my comp pistol got to the range for a competition opened my range bag reached into the pouch I normally put it in and boom no G34.  Said oh well pulled out my G19 from my holster and went to work.  I do not think I did any better or worse with my 19 vs my 34.

2014 manufacture date.  Yes, they are MIM fwiw.  I don't think it's necessarily relevant as everything breaks if you use it enough.

I don't keep track of live rounds very closely but somewhere in the realm of 30k.  The real wear on this gun comes from dry fire.

My main gun has about that much on there too..   I've stopped using it in favor of my newer one.  It's mostly just a dry fire gun now.

I did have some damage from some aluminium cases leaving scorch marks on the barrel and slide

In this case, is it a result of mag changes while dry firing?

I've even had brand new factory Glock parts break.  They have also put out many defective magazines.  I still use Glock though.

Do you let mags drop when practicing reloads, if so do you use a padded mat or something similar

I broke an ejector on a G23 and wore out a slide stop/spring on a G22. Both were LEO trade ins so I have no idea how much they'd been used.

Several guys I shoot with have broken the tips off strikers - both factory and aftermarket. Probably a good part to keep in the spare parts bin.

I broke the slide on a Gen 2 17.  Cracked right through the ejection port.

Saw two 34s break off a rear frame rail.  Seen all kinds of shit break on 22s and 23s.  You couldn't give me a Glock in 40.
