Didn't really see much info out there about the factory internal locks that Glock installed so I figured I would make a thread.

This is the Glock in question, G19.3 (normal slide stop has been installed) and is stock. I bought this brand new 2/23/2005 in Kentucky with 2 10rd mags, I didn't know any better that the AWB was gone. Serial number starts with ERC with fire date of 6/9/2004
I have put 5-6K rounds through it with no issues resulting from the safety. I used it a few times initially when new but stopped due to possible issues with HD situations. I imagine this may be needed in certain parts of the country.

The lock is at the bottom of the grip where a plug would go. Key is inserted and turned 360deg.

Lock

Key

The smooth part in the middle will come out when the lock is engaged (see below)

Very small pin/roll pin above the trigger housing pin, but only on the right side of the gun

After the key is turned, this part on the back of the grip sticks out and is very noticeable when holding the gun

Safety turns 180deg clockwise to engage the trigger bar

Another picture with the frame fully assembled

Post any internal factory lock Glocks!!!!!

That's a trip....I've never hear of such a thing.

Nothing wrong with it if that's what you need to feel safe, kind of kid prof.

I've read about them, and wanted to add one to my Glock collection. But haven't been able to locate one.

Interesting. I have never seen one, but Google turned up this http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/2010/03/24/glock-internal-safety-lock/

Glock calls it a Safety Lock.  The link on the website above is dead, but I found it listed on Glock's European website. http://eu.glock.com/english/index_safety.htm Then click on the Safety Lock tab.

GLOCK SAFETY LOCK
The GLOCK safety lock is one of the latest developments from GLOCK. The GLOCK safety lock is the first safety cylinder lock for pistols worldwide located conveniently in the back of the pistol grip. The GLOCK safety lock ensures that the weapon cannot be used or disassembled without permission.
