Is anyone else having any issues getting theirs running right?

Initial build went great. Did the front end of the kit with a Dremel and some sand paper. Cut the rear rails with a multi tool that had a RemGrit saw and a small file. Everything seemed fine. Then I got the parts in and started to assemble it.

The fucking drill bits supplied are not the right size. They are way too small. You'll have to hog the holes out to get the pins in. Even after that I still beat the shit out of them to get them in.

For some reason when I pull the trigger, keep the trigger pulled in, and rack the slide, the slide gets hung up on the safety plunger portion of the trigger bar. Like the trigger bar itself is riding too high? Well, I had a few trigger bars so I took the Dremel to one make it work.

Went out to test fire it today. Couldn't get thru a mag without a failure to fire, slide not 100% closed, or failure to eject. Even testing fitting everything the slide will stay slightly cracked open when feeding a snap cap. Just like it was doing when shooting. If I put the slide on my gen 4 G17 frame, everything is fine.

Not really sure where to go from here. Was temped to throw the fucking thing in the desert and leave it there.

Also, I had bought a shit load of the ETS mags and got to test them. I like the mags but apparently my 22rd mags have the shitty springs. After loading the mags only once or twice, 2 of my 8 22rd mags won't even push the follower up to the top the springs are so bad. Roughly 5 or 6 of my 8 22rd mags have light spring tension. The 7 17rd mags worked great and are still good. Used 2 of my batch of the 31rd mags and the springs do feel lighter after one use than the new mags but they still work fine.

Yep, the supplied drill bits aren't correct!

If I build another one I'll use the correct sizes.

That being said, mine runs perfect.

What size bits do you need?

Sucks to hear about the ETS maga. I just bought some today. Hopefully they won't have issues.

I had failures to eject at first... Changed to the Gen 4 ejector and it fan fine today...  Only issue was with ETS 31 round mags.. Had 2 .. been loaded up for a couple weeks.. Followers hung up on both... Glock mags ran fine.. Including the 33 rounder..

Took it back out today. Same shit. Consistent failures to fire. Light primer strikes. My guess is incorrect spacing between the upper and lower causing occasional early release of the firing pin? That's all I can think of. Maybe I need to work on my spacing of my trigger/ejector block.

Put the upper from my build on my gen 4 G17 lower and everything ran great. Not a single issue. Put it back on my built lower and back to the same shit.

The springs in 6 of my 8 ETS 22rd mags are shit. Three of them won't even push the follower all the way up the spring is so weak after only loading them a few times now. I guess this is a known issue and they had some bad springs go out so I'm awaiting a response from ETS about getting some new springs. Mag on right in pic below still has good spring tension.

The ETS 17rd mags are doing great. Spring tension is good after a few loadings. Haven't tried my 15rd mags. Have tried 2 my 8 31rd mags and I can feel the spring is now a bit weaker after being compressed one time. However, it doesn't feel weak enough to affect operation. Besides the issues, I do like the mags.

Are you running gen 4 parts in the Polymer 80?

You said you put your slide in a Gen 4 frame so I'm asking.

They polymer 80 was designed to work with gen 2 and 3 parts but not 4 right?

I'm running a mix of parts. Some parts work on both gen 3 and 4. The gen 3 slide of my poly 80 build goes on and works on my gen 4 G17. Because of the size of the recoil spring on the gen 4, I can't put that slide on the polymer 80 frame without a bunch of grinding.

It's just way too hot to go out and play with this thing here in AZ.

On your ETS mags, they had a thread where they discussed issues with the springs.  I think they can get you squared away on those if you email them.

Others have reported the issues with the pin holes being snug.  If you didn't keep them centered when you enlarged them, I could see a situation where it may make your trigger pin sit to high and as a result the trigger bar would ride high...all of which would impact the trigger bar to slide clearance and the trigger block plunger being properly depressed.

Some photos may help.

Ok tab on trigger bar was hitting the slide and slowing everything down.
I ground it down to give it clearance yet still be able to deactivate the trigger block safety.

Shimmed both the front of the trigger housing and the flat part of the back with credit card stock.

This is because the trigger housing could rock in the frame.

I am assuming that when the slide was making contact with the ramp on the trigger bar tab this would cause the slide to jump and the trigger housing to move letting the cruciform slip off the firing pin tab during firing....causing the dead trigger I ran into during firing.

I will  go shoot it some time in the next few days to test

Here are some bad photos you can see where it was making contact.

Yep. That's what mine did as well. Here's a pic of the underside of the slide where the portion of the trigger bar was hitting the slide. I had to grind mine down as well.

I also just tore the whole thing down. I found a pretty good burr on the firing pin. I think this could have been acting with the safety plunger to cause my light strikes. I have also shimmed the trigger block as you have stated. I probably won't be able to get out to play with it for a while now.

Get a bic disposable white body pen or equivalent it should hit it hard enough to launch it a foot plus vertically...

Make sure the pen is right over the firing pin hole.

A pencil with the rubber end on the firing pin opening also works.

Have either of you two sent feedback to polymer 80 and asked for advice?  There could be a molding issue or they may need to improve the product.  In either case getting that feedback to them would be invaluable.

I did hear back from ETS. They are getting me some new springs out. I do really like these mags and the customer service seems excellent so far.

Second round had a light primer strike...the rest were flawless today....
