Today I bought a new G19 Gen 4 MOS. I haven't had a Glock in the collection for about 10 years but still have magazines and a holster so it followed me home.
I take it out of the box and am dry firing it to get the best fitting backstrap and run into a problem. Rack the slide, pull and hold the trigger then rack the slide again, release the trigger and the trigger resets properly. If I rack the slide, pull and release the trigger then rack the slide, the trigger will not reset. A second racking gets the trigger to reset. I have not done anything other than install a backstrap to this pistol. Besides sending a brand new pistol back to Glock, am I missing anything here? Thanks. |

Clean and lube it according to the manual. Make sure you place one drop of oil, on the points the manual states. Make sure the trigger bar spring is intact, and installed correctly. If the loops are upside down, the trigger may not reset correctly.
If that doesn't fix it, your trigger bar may be out of spec and it is not maintaining proper engagement when you rack the slide. The disconnector may also need to be bent a little. When the trigger housing is pulled out of the receiver, the disconnector should bow out a little. Basically, it is being squeezed into place when it is fitted into the receiver. If that bow isn't correct, it can cause reset problems. |
