I have a Gen3 G34, I have had the gun a few years and probably have 1k rounds thru it, the only mods that have been made are sights and a Zev connector. I shot it Friday (100 rounds) everything was fine. I went and shot it yesterday and it locked the slide  back after every shot, it did the same exact thing with five different mags and three different brands of ammo. I could not get the slide to go forward by racking the slide with a magazine in it, had to use the slide release lever. It is a little dirty, but not bad for a glock. I have not had time to take it apart yet, where should I start looking???? Thanks!

Your slide stop (or slide release, whatever you call it) was either installed incorrectly or has a broken spring.

Makes sense, I will check and see if it broke, thanks!

If the spring is on top of and or over the pin, it will lock back every time. If the spring is broken it will lock back every time.

Take the slide off. Pull up on the lever (away from the frame). If it snaps down it works, if not, its in wrong or broken.

Thanks for the help guys, the spring was bent (had a weird crook at the end) I bent it back to the shape it should have been and it works like new, the only thing that has me perplexed is why and how it did it. I shot it and everything was good, put it in the safe, and the next time it was bent and didn't work. The slide was not taken off or anything else messed with Oh well it is fixed now, thanks for the replies

If it bent once, I'd go ahead and replace it.

If it bends or broke it usually a sign the gun was assembled wrong.

Make sure the top pin goes in first, then the slide stop, then the thicker pin.

If you inserted the top pin last..... that will do it.
