Is anyone using one of these trigger groups?
And if so, how much pre travel are you eliminating and what weight of striker spring are you using? Mr. V in one of his videos says that he uses the factory spring weight "because he uses a variety of ammunition." (Reloads I assume). thanks! |
| What will you be using it for? If for competition I'd highly recommend the DK Custom trigger kit. It feels amazing; no pre or over travel. I just got the basic kit so I'm using the 4.5# striker spring. If you get the full kit with the modified striker you should be able to use the 4# striker spring. |

Thanks guys,
I am using it for occasional CC and light competition (production class) just to learn the DA only system after being with 1911's for so many years. I was tempted to purchase a DK with flat trigger but thought it was so un-Glock like that I wanted it to feel more like a Glock. With safety on trigger I did not want to entirely get rid of the initial take up and just settled for a lighter, smoother trigger pull and more snappy reset. I enjoy the little Glock. Sure is light weight! Rocco, have you ever had a light primer strike with that middle (4.5 lb I think) spring on the striler? I was thinking of doing just like you did. |

I got the Vogel installed without too much difficulty, except recapturing the striker spring with the spring cups. Im starting out with the 4.5 lb and Federal ammo.
I donot have a very good quaoity trigger pull gauge (old RCBS spring loaded) but it looks like the pull weight is around 3.5 lbs, down from over 6. I left set screw for over travel alone. It has a real snappy return. If I like it will probably lok tight it in place. I am a little bit surprised the pull is that light since the Vogel connector seems to have more contact on inside side of frame than the OEM. Maybe just the way I installed it? The finish on the parts is really, really, bright. Almost like it was chrome plated. Truly mirror bright. Very smooth, not at all gritty. distinct two-stage wall. Light pressure for the break. |

However I only use Winchester primers to avoid that problem. |
