This may have been brought up in the past but I couldn't find it.

Recently purchased a G17 mag and it is really tough to load to even 10 rds. Anyone else have this problem and how did you resolve it?

Also, are there any weighted mag plates/+ plates that will work with them yet?

Mine load to capacity easier than the factory mags.
No idea on basepads.

I hate to admit it but I had to use the factory mad loader after 10 or 11. After 200 rds (breaking in a new barrel) I actually had a blister! I'm gonna take it apart just to see where wear marks are at and I guess email magpul. Great mag otherwise IMO

Had this problem with mine but I had some plastic flashing leftover on the follower and inside the mag.  After I cleaned that up they have worked perfect ever since.

I bought one to try a month or so ago. The spring does seem stiff, little hard to load fully and somewhat hard to pull back the slide with a full mag loaded. I assume it just needs to be broke in more.

They'll get better.  I've shot 300 trouble-free rounds with these mags and they've become much easier to load.

mine took about 5 times of using it before it loosened up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

Are these mags only range worthy or would you trust your life to them and use it for carry ?

I have at least 1000 rounds between to G17 mags. No issues. I have a shit ton of OEM, but wouldn't hesitate one bit to carry with Magpuls.

I bought 1 just to try it. Numerous rds out of it without any issues. I intend on getting more.

Like your avatar. Nice range. Wife and I shoot at the GSSF match there.

Magpul just put out a thicker rubberized baseplate for the GL9 mags. I think they come in a 3 pack for around $20. Adds a quarter inch to the base of the mag but doesn't increase capacity.

Oh ya know, had to preheat it with a small torch to get it to operating temp before installing and firing 3-5 rds.  Repeat until 50 rds fired. Clean and then check bore to ensure even wear of the rifling.

Yeah, I just started shooting. Put 200 though it and actually noticed the group started tightening up. Or I started getting better.

Only point of post was the mags.

No Issues here.  I use a Maglula.   I have six mags and have had no issues.  I use my mags for practice and some matches.  No issues

Two of mine have had issues during rapid fire in competition. I consider mine range mags. My Glock factory mags are 100%.

They do make great range mags though.

Mine were a touch harder to load than factory.  I don't see them holding up as long as factory without a steel liner.
