Already have a Glock 30, looking at either a Glock 34 or 41.....who has owned or owns one or both? Thoughts?

I have shot both and own a 35 because I had money burning a hole in my pocket.  If i had it to do over I would go for the 34.  If you dont have other 9mm then the 41 makes sense since you can share mags.

I still like the 34 a lot.

My 35 is a tack driver either way.

I prefer a 21 to the 41.  The 41 seems like it doesn't damp recoil like the 21 does.

I like the 34 and own 3.   Don't own any 45s....

I own both.  The choice will come down to what you plan to use it for and if ammo standardization matters since you already have the 30.  Size difference is what you'd expect.  Same length but a touch wider since it's a 45.

My 34 was my first handgun and I learned to shoot on it.  Carried it for about a year as my first ccw, too.  I'll probably never sell it due to the sentimental attachment, but don't shoot it much nowadays either.  If I ever get into gun games it will likely be the one I trick out for that role.

My 41 was carried for a short while after it was vetted, and then took over for the 34 on bedside duty.  When I feel like shooting a long slide it's usually the one I grab now.  I think accuracy wise, the 41 is a touch better.  But I have never bench rested any pistol so it could just be my perception.

If I knew that the 41 was going to be an option and could go back and do it over, I would've bought my 19 first since it gets shot and carried much more than any gun I own.  Then skipped the 34 and went with the 41 as my long slide.  But that opinion may change if I ever fall back in love with the 34.

I own both.

I think it will really come down to your preference of caliber.  If you like 45, you'll love the 41.  If you like 9mm, you'll love the 34.

On the upside, if you choose to buy both, you'll only need to buy one holster because they're the same size and will fit in the same holsters.

I own both. The 41 is unique. It will fit into the same holster as your 34. The slim slide and longer sight radius have a very nice balance. If you are already loading for the 30, then the 41 would be a nice fit from a logistics stand point. Share mags, etc.

I like my 34,  its always a hit on the range. Low recoil and cheap to feed.

Shot a GSSF match today and my targets at distance certainly looked better with my 21 than my 9mm's.

See if you can try shooting both and go with the one that gives you the best groups on target.

I recently bought a new 41, and i love it. So far, i have only put 400 rounds through it, but i love how it feels, and have had zero malfuntions so far.

G34 no question for me... It is my favorite pistol.  Now I just want a Gen4 MOS.  Have Gen3s currently.

How's the recoil on the 41? Vs the 34?

Can't comment on the 41 but my gen 4 34 is my favorite Glock to shoot.

I'd suggest shooting a long slide first. I sold my 41, too floppy.

I run a 34 for competitions, carry a 19 most of the time, and have a 41 because you can't not have a .45. I compete with the 34 because I just can't run the 41 nearly as fast and accurate as the 34, not to mention the difference in ammo prices.

I owned both, but sold the 41 after about 3 months.  Did not shoot it as well as my G21.  The slide is the same thickness as the 34 which means the barrel has to be thinner walled.  It just shoots much different for me.  I have a G20 that I shoot Underwood ammo in so I'm not recoil sensitive, but I could not shoot the 41 well at all.  Shots were all over the place, could not get small, consistent groupings.  My 21 and 20 are tack drivers in my hands.

YMMV, but I suggest shooting one first.  I'm not the only one who has had the same experience.  The G-34 is my favorite Glock.  Shoots GREAT..!!

Exact same experience I had.   A 34 is super easy to shoot well, the 41 felt like the slide was too light for normal powered loads.    If you like to reload light charged 185s, the 41 makes a helluva game gun.   For store-bought ammo, 21 if you really wanna spend the money, 34 (or 17) if you wanna shoot more, spend less, and enjoy it more....

I own both and agree with what most of the others are saying.  I love the 34.  The 41 seems to recoil in a harsher manner than a 21 because of the lighter slide/barrel.

Also considering the Glock 21 gen 4 now....though I'm not sure it will fill a purpose that my glock 30 won't

G34gen4 would get the nod, I'd probably chose a G21 over the G41.... it doesn't do much for me.

The purpose your 21 fills that the 30 can not is feeding. There is a  difference in the feed geometry. the 21 will eat anything. 200 SWC...no problem. The 30 needs a rounded bullet profile for absolute feed reliability.  The 21 will function with a wider range of loads as well.

I have a 41, not overly impressed with it.

I likely will be selling it, the 40 feels better to shoot, and am thinking of a 34 to go with the 19
